Swansea Bay Orienteering Club is delighted to welcome the 4 nations to this beautiful part of Gower for the Senior Home Internationals 2019. We hope you will enjoy the challenging dune orienteering and the warm hospitality provided at the event centre.
We will also be hosting two Welsh League Events to run on the same areas to give club Orienteers the chance to run on this lovely terrain.

The area used is a complex area of grass and thicker vegetated sand dunes. The dunes are more pronounced and higher in the north of the area and are more vague and less pronounced in the southern end of the area. There are some thorny bushes whose size may vary from the map in places. The main paths are shown on the map but inevitably there are extra paths which are not shown as the area is used by dog-walkers and horse-riders.

Terrain
The area is a complex sand dune system, with small areas of runnable pine forest. Runnability is generally good though low vegetation growth can make some areas slow running.
A large fenced enclosure runs through the whole area. This may be crossed by competitors. Those who don't want to cross it can use the crossing points (shown on the map as a single black bar (stile) or standard symbol double black bar (gate). Novice courses are generally planned to make this the preferred route.
